Joyful
If you learn about the countries Denmark and Bhutan, you will realize what is joy again.
These two lands are on the list of the richest and poorest countries respectively, and their GDP cannot be compared, but all of their people are happy and satisfied.
We always think the rich should be happier than the poor, because we think the poor lack something which will be a source of worry and dissatisfaction. When people are unsatisfied they can't be happy easily.
That's true, not about substance, but a content heart. Poverty is being unable to help someone, while happiness is being able to follow your ideal without being disturbed by anyone.
I wish that in this new year, everyone can keep trying to build a peaceful world and be more joyful and optimistic.

My Mon's Turnip Cake
Ingredients:
400g...........Rice flour
10g.............Corn statch
500g...........Turnip
30g.............Dried Shrimps
4..................Dried Chinese Mushrooms
1 1/2...........Chinese Style Sausages
10g..............Chinese preserved pork
2...................Garlics, crushed
600ml........Water ( I used the water that soaked the dried shrimps and mushrooms, mixed with the turnip juice after peeled, to make the flavour more rich).
Seasoning:
5g................Chicken flavour power
5g...............White pepper
5g................Salt
10ml...........Rice wine
5g................Sugar
Processing:
1. Soak mushrooms and dried shrimps in water till tender, then cut into pieces. Keep the water.
2. Use hot water to wash chinese sausages and preserved pork, wash out the fat from them. Then cut into small pieces.
3. Slice turnip into small slices and keep the juice that's left. ( If you want to taste the texture of turnip, you can make thicker slices).
4. Blend rice flour with the soaked water and turnip juice together.
5. Heat wok to high heat, and stir-fry the garlic a little bit.
6. Add all of the other ingredients without water, cook until 80% done, then add seasoning. Set aside.
7. Add a little oil into wok, stir-fry turnip until it turns transparent or tender. ( It's normal for the turnip to release water ).
8. Turn heat low, add the ingredients back to the wok and try the taste, you could use white pepper and salt to balance it.
9. Pour the rice flour water, keep stiring until it's stickly.
10. Use saran wrap to wrap the steam container, pour the mixture into it, and give it 45 mins for steam under high heat.
I wish everybody has a nice trunip cake for the Chinese New Year, hope everything goes well and always be joyful and optimistic.
